Home furniture for every room in the house

Balton offers furniture for every part of the home, from sofas, armchairs and tables to chairs, bookcases, entrance furniture, beds and sofa beds.

On the website you can browse the available models and, depending on the product, the dimensions, materials, colours, upholstery and finishes on offer. When an available model does not meet the needs of the space, bespoke manufacturing is also an option.

Furniture for the home, from available models to made-to-measure pieces

Choosing a piece of furniture can start from an available model with set dimensions, materials and finishes. In Balton’s categories you can browse the products and explore the configurations offered for each model.

When the space or the way it is used calls for something different, the answer may be an adaptation or a made-to-measure piece. In that case, the design starts from the actual dimensions of the space and what the piece needs to do.

Made-to-measure is therefore not necessarily a separate product category. It can be the next step from an available model, or a new piece designed specifically for the space.

Made-to-measure furniture to the dimensions of your space

When an available product does not fit the dimensions, use or specific needs of a space, we can move on to a bespoke piece.

The process starts from the actual dimensions of the space and how the piece will be used. The design then takes shape and the materials, finishes and construction details are defined.

Balton handles the whole process, from measuring and design to 3D visualisation, manufacturing and installation.

How a made-to-measure piece is made

01 — Conversation and measurements

We start by talking about the space, how it is used and what you need. For a bespoke piece, we take the necessary measurements.

02 — Design and proposal

Based on the details of the space, we shape the proposal and define the dimensions, materials, finishes and construction details.

03 — 3D visualisation

We create a 3D visualisation at the actual dimensions of the space, so you can see how the proposal takes shape before manufacturing goes ahead.

04 — Manufacturing

Once the proposal is finalised, the piece is made in Balton’s workshop to the final dimensions, materials and finishes.

05 — Installation

The process ends with the Balton team delivering and installing the piece in your space.

Made-to-measure does not necessarily mean a higher price

A made-to-measure piece is not necessarily unaffordable or significantly more expensive than an available model.

The price depends on specific aspects of the build, such as the dimensions, materials, finishes, design and construction method. The fact that a piece is made to measure does not in itself determine its price.

That is why, when a bespoke piece is needed, we first look at exactly what the space requires and shape the proposal around those specific requirements.

Before manufacturing begins, there is a clear picture of the proposal, materials, finishes, price and expected completion time.

Working with architects and interior designers

Balton works with architects, interior designers and designers to make furniture and bespoke pieces that form part of a residential project.

We can work from existing drawings, proposals and specifications, handling manufacturing to the dimensions, materials and details set for the project.

The collaboration can cover a single piece or several rooms of a home, depending on the needs of the project.
